Château La Borie

Ch La Borie Tour SO

Chateau La Borie is located south of Drome Provençale area. The estate is between Saint Paul Trois Chateaux at North and Suze la Rousse at south. This area has grown vines for a very long time. Vines were yet present at the time of Roman Empire.
Chateau La Borie was built during the XVIII th century.
Rhone Valley is an area with very few wine estates named as "chateau". La Borie is one of them and as such is high quality oriented.

Chateau La Borie wines belong to two appellations: Cotes du Rhone and Cotes du Rhone Villages.

Our wines are sold in France and in many countries around the world.

The winemaker and his team :

From 1963 through 1997 it is Emile Bories cousin of Jacques Margnat (1915 - 2003) that reshaped the estate and carried the acreage from 42 to more than 175.

Jérôme Margnat

Jérôme Margnat son of Jacques, worked with Emile as soon as he was out of the University of Changins in Switzerland.
Since 1998, Jérôme Margnat is in charge of the estate owned with his brother Eric .
At that time a new era started:

- Growing vines in accordance to environmental preservation,
- Yield control,
- 50% of the estate replanted,
- New public and private tasting rooms.
- 100% of bottling on site.

The target is to improve quality year after year.
The numerous awards testify that Chateau la Borie is on the right track.
Within the team in charge of the job we need to mention Patrick Mondon in charge of the vines and Didier Leroudier in charge of winemaking.
